Olivia's first photo shoot!

While we were in California, Olivia had her first photo shoot with Ginette Sundin of Sundin photography. Ginette is an incredible photographer and was even able to make Erik feel comfortable in front of the camera! Thank you, Tutu, for arranging the photo shoot and Lexi for styling the family!

We did it!

After weeks of anxiety leading up to our first flight to California without Erik, turns out that it wasn't that hard. There was some drama at the airport, but once we were on the plane it wasn't as bad as I had imagined it to be. I'll give you the whole story...

I woke up the Wednesday before our flight with a cold and Olivia was boogery too, so that didn't help my preparation for the flight. Olivia was better by Friday night, but I was still pretty sick and not excited about getting on a plane. I managed to pack everything that we needed in one suitcase and a backpack for the plane. When we arrived at the airport on Saturday morning, Virgin America's computer system was down and they couldn't find my reservation. They put me on standby and told us that they were pretty sure I was going to get on the plane. I had to say goodbye to Erik because they couldn't print him a gate pass because of the computers, so Olivia and I were off to security by ourselves with the car seat, stroller, backpack, and bag of milk. Luckily, people become very helpful when they see you alone with an infant! Once we were through security, I waited nervously while everyone else got on the plane. It seemed like forever while I watched everyone else board the plane while they looked at me and thought... I hope they don't put that sick girl with a baby next to me. Finally, they told me that had a seat for me! At this point I am so excited to be getting on the plane, but terrified that they are going to put in a middle seat squished between two giant people. I was more than relieved when they escorted me on the plane and we had an entire row to ourselves!!!!

The plane ride itself was easy. Olivia slept for a little and played a lot. It was so nice to be able to put her in the other seats, so she could roll around and play. She had one meltdown because she was tired and couldn't fall asleep, but it was towards the end of the flight. By the time we arrived in CA, I was exhausted.

Tutu, Tanya, was there to greet us and took us straight to In n' out! The rest of the first day is kind of a blur. I think Olivia and I were both asleep by 6:00.

The rest of our trip was great! We spent a lot of time at Lexi and Tim's house playing with Adella and Nolan. Olivia loved playing in the playroom with Adella and all of her toys. We went to Disneyland, Glenoaks Elementary to see my friends and students, the beach, and the pool!

I didn't have room in my bag for the camera, so some of the pictures are from my phone and not the best.

First time on a small world at Disneyland!

First Tooth!

Olivia has been drooling, and chomping on her fingers for a couple weeks. She has also been waking up from naps and sleep crying, so I was pretty sure teeth were coming. This afternoon I decided to check her gums and I felt her first tooth! I will try to get a picture of it as soon it gets a little bigger. I never knew I would be so excited about a tooth!

Yardley

We just got back from a great weekend at my parent's house in Yardley. The weather was great, so we took Olivia outside to play.

I love my new eggs, Mimi!

Is Erik really that funny?

Olivia started doing this new head shake when she gets excited. Since she thinks Erik is the funniest guy around, she does it all the time when they're together.

7 months

Olivia is 7 months today! She is so much fun and really starting to show her personality. She loves to talk and babbles all day long. I heard "dada" for the first time the other day while she was talking to everyone in Target. She is really good at sitting now, but still falls over if she gets distracted. We started a music class with Ricki and Jonah last week! They both seem to really like it. We sing, dance, and play with instruments. Olivia is always really interested in the drums, which makes Erik happy. He is already teaching her how to play the guitar.

It took a long time, but Olivia is finally sleeping through the night! It is so nice to sleep for 8 or 9 consecutive hours since I haven't done it in a year. I'm more tired now than when I was getting up once or twice a night, but I'm not complaining. She goes to sleep around 6:45 and wakes up around 6:30, but then she'll lay in her crib for another half hour after I feed her. She also learned how to find her pacifier and put it back in on her own. I put a couple in her crib, so its easier for her to find one in the middle of the night. I'll put her down with a pink one and then she'll have a green one in her mouth when I get her in the morning! I forgot how much I love sleep!

Yesterday, She was on the floor trying to reach the phone and she started to push herself with her legs. I think crawling is in the near future! I'm going to try to enjoy these last few weeks before she's always on the move!
